Entrance Guide

Here are several ways how you can pursue studying Clothing Technology at the University of the Philippines - Diliman. You must fulfill the following:

I. UPCAT - University of the Philippines College Admission Test

High School or Secondary students enrolled in any Philippine High School will be able to get into the BS Clothing Technology Program of the University of the Philippines through the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT). In the application form, you should indicate that you are applying for the BS Clothing Technology program.

When you pass the UPCAT and you chose the program, you already have the option to enroll into this program. Just make sure that you complete all your requirements when you visit the University on your scheduled enrollment day.

II. Shifting Students

If you are already a UP Student enrolled in the UPDiliman campus, you may apply to shift into the BS Clothing Technology program. In order to do so, you must fulfill the following:

  1. You have to make sure that you have incurred the minimum number of units that will allow you to shift into the BS Clothing Technology program.
  2. Your General Weighted Average (GWA) should be high enough since you are competing with a lot of UP students from UPDiliman who would also like to shift into the BS Clothing Technology Program.
  3. You must meet all the requirements set by the Office of University Registrar (OUR) and the Department of Clothing, Textiles and Interior Design (CTID)
  4. You must take the Talent Test given by the CTID
  5. You must take the Written Exam given by the CTID
  6. You must undergo the Formal Interview given by the CTID
  7. The application process starts on the first week of May, so make sure that you have prepared all your requirements by then.

You will be asked more about yourself and why you decided to take up Clothing Technology. Through the interview, they will see your degree of intent to study Clothing Technology. You may not do well in one of the first two stages, but if they see at the interview your dedication to the and how much you want this course, they may consider you to be included in the list of applicants who will be given slots into the program. So talk about yourself, your strengths that are relevant to Clothing Technology, how you could be an asset to the University and the program, and your passion for the study of the entire Fashion Industry - from design to production to retail.
